Jezik in slovstvo. 1/2004. 3–15.
V tem drugem delu prispevka bo podana krajša primerjalna analiza Pugljeve kratke proze s kratkimi pripovedmi dveh velikanov evropske novelistike – Guya de Maupassanta in Antona Pavloviča Čehova. Na Pugljevo povezanost z naturalizmom je opozarjal Kocijan, še marsikateri literarni zgodovinar in raziskovalec pisateljevega dela, kakor na primer že Lavrin, Pregelj, Karlin, zatem Koblar, Mahnič, Zadravec, v novejšem času A. Koron, pa je izpostavil vpliv prav Maupassanta in Čehova.
Blanka Bošnjak: Milan Pugelj as an Important Link in the Writing of Short Stories at the beginning of the 20th Century in Slovenia (part 2). Jezik in slovstvo. 1/2004. 3–15.
Part 2 of the article gives a brief comparative analysis of Pugelj’s short stories and those written by two great European writers of short story – Guy de Maupassant and Anton Pavlovich Chekhov. Pugelj’s attachment to naturalism was mentioned by Kocijan. Several literary historians and other researchers of Pugelj’s work, among them Lavrin, Pregelj, Karlin, Koblar, Mahnich, Zadravec, and more recently A. Koron, have all stressed the explicit influence of Maupassant and Chekhov.
Jezik in slovstvo. 1/2004. 17–27.
Pričujoč prispevek ugotavlja, kako je pisateljevo leposlovno delo sprejeto v našem kulturnem prostoru s povsem drugačno kulturnozgodovinsko tradicijo, kjer odkrivamo različne horizonte branja, drugačno razumevanje njegovih umetniških sporočil in kjer nastajajo različne estetske sodbe.
Jutka Rudaš: Esterházy in Slovenia: from the Reception of Contemporary Hungarian Literature. Jezik in slovstvo. 1/2004. 17–27.
The article presents the reception of works by Péter Esterházy in Slovenia. The process of receptive aesthetics of contemporary Hungarian literature from the second half of the ’80ies and up to now, is marked by the literary meeting in Vilenica. Since its very beginning in 1986, Hungarian writers have been taking part in this, now already traditional literary “manifestation”, and several have been given awards there. Péter Esterházy was the first to be given the International Vilenica Literary Award in 1988, which has resulted in the translation of his work since then. This article tries to establish how his literary work is received in Slovenia’s cultural domain, which has a completely different cultural and historical tradition, where various horizons of reading are being discovered, with a different understanding of his artistic message, which has resulted in an array of aesthetic judgements of his work.
Katja Mihurko Poniž: Knjige slovenskih pisateljic pri založbi Belo-modra knjižnica. Jezik in slovstvo. 1/2004. 29–41.
Katja Mihurko Poniž: Books by Slovene Women Writers Published by the Belo-modra knjižnica Publishing House. Jezik in slovstvo. 1/2004. 29–41.
The article presents the Belo-modra knjižnica publishing house which was active between the years of 1927 and 1941. The central focus is on the publication of works by women writers in Slovenia. The publishing house published books by Ljuba Prenner, Dora Gruden, Mira Lamut and Marijana Kokalj-Željeznova, while Marja Boršnik edited Izbrano delo Vide Jerajeve (Selected Works by Vida Jeraj) and, in co-operation with Eleonora Kernčeva, edited Izbrano delo Zofke Kvedrove (Selected Works by Zofka Kvedrova). The Belo-modra knjižnica publishing house is not important only because it published Slovene women writers and by doing so bridged the gap which would have otherwise occurred in Slovene literary history should Slovenia have been deprived of their writing. It is also important because it proved, with its numerous other activities, that literature is not a place where only one gender can, or is allowed to, express itself.
Alojzija Zupan Sosič: Alamut – ob zgodbi in pripovedi,. Jezik in slovstvo. 1/2004. 43–55.
Alojzija Zupan Sosič: Alamut – its Story and Narrative. Jezik in slovstvo. 1/2004. 43–55.
The reader of Alamut can experience a complete reading experience thorough th e intertwining of reading for pleasure, and deep or critical reading, where in the first reading experience, attention is drawn by the book’s story, while the second reading, offers a greater insight into its narrative. Students can learn how to traverse from one to another type of reading (or from a lower to a higher level) from their teachers – a parallel reading of Alamut has shown that the novel assigned this year as compulsory reading for the Matura, the final high school examination, has an effective and attractive story, but a less clear and partly trivialised narrative.
Kozma Ahačič: Od šolanja do uporabnikov: še nekaj vprašanj slovenske zgodovinske sociolingvistike 16. stoletja,. Jezik in slovstvo. 1/2004. 57–82.
V povezavi s tem spregovori tudi o prodaji, nakupu in nakladi protestantskih knjig. Na koncu poskuša podati odgovor na vprašanje, kdo so bili dejanski uporabniki protestantskih del.
Kozma Ahačič: From Education to Users: Some Questions Concerning the Slovene Historical Socio-linguistics of the 16th Century. Jezik in slovstvo. 1/2004. 57–82.
The article tries to describe from the socio-linguistic point of view the educational background of those who used Slovene literary language in the 16th century, focusing in particular on a special treatment of the usage of the Slovene language in schools. Supported by some sources, the article ascertains the financing of Protestant works and the acquisition of adequate financial means. Connected to this, the article also addresses the sale, purchase and publication of Protestant books. At the end, it tries to answer the question concerning the actual users of Protestant books.
Janez Strehovec: Pismenost za svetovni splet: kako brati digitalna novomedijska besedila. Jezik in slovstvo. 1/2004. 83–96.
Janez Strehovec: Literacy for the World Wide Web: How to Read Digital Texts in the New Media. Jezik in slovstvo. 1/2004. 83–96.
In a contemporary, extremely multi-dimensional world, which is increasingly becoming defined by new media forms of communication, the question of literacy also needs to be defined in its plural form, since in addition to the known, i.e. literary literacy, other forms of literacy are becoming topical in the light of one's necessity to orient through modern documents, which are increasingly engaging the multimedia, and to navigate through their collections. One such type of literacy is also literacy for the world wide web, which is dealt with in the present article in the sense of reading and writing web documents, navigating through the web and reading non-linear, specifically rhizomatic structures, demanding from the user an understanding of labyrinth environments and the ability to navigate through them. Web literacy also presupposes the ability for subtle processes of identification, for working with virtual environments and for understanding the logic of databases.
