Barbara Pregelj: Trivialno v luči refleksije o postmodernizmu z nekaterimi primeri slovenske fantastične ter zgodovinske kratke proze. Jezik in slovstvo. 1/2006. 3–18.
Prispevek ponuja krajši pregled nekaterih pomembnejših teoretskih razmišljanj o preseganju tradicionalne dihotomne opozicije med visoko in trivialno literaturo v luči refleksije o postmodernizmu. To v postmodernistični književnosti nastaja predvsem kot oblika medbesedilnosti, kar avtorica podkrepi z nekaterimi primeri slovenske kratke fantastične in zgodovinske proze. Medbesedilna hibridnost kratkoproznih žanrov nastaja kot korekcija nekaterih značilnejših pripovednih elementov. Zato so v prispevku predstavljena teoretska izhodišča podkrepljena z analizo elementov prostora in časa ob fantastiki in zgodovinski kratki prozi.

Barbara Pregelj: Aspects of Trivia in Light of Reflection on Postmodernism with Some Examples of Slovene Fantasy and Historical Short Stories. Jezik in slovstvo. 1/2006. 3–18.
The article offers a brief overview of some prominent theoretical considerations on the transcendence of the traditional dichotomy between serious and trivial literature in light of reflection on postmodernism. In postmodernist literature this is manifested as a new form of intertextuality, which the author corroborates with some examples of fantasy and historical short stories. The intertextual hybrid nature of short prose genres takes shape as a correction of some typical narrative elements. This is why the theoretical starting points presented in the article are supported with the analysis of elements related to time and space in fantasy and historical short stories.



Maruša Mugerli: Prevajanje ljudskih pesmi in umetne poezije z medbesedilnim navezovanjem na ljudsko izročilo. Jezik in slovstvo. 1/2006. 19–31.
Prevajanje ljudskih pesmi se razlikuje od prevajanja umetne poezije, kar je predvsem posledica razlik med poetikama ljudskega in umetnega. Prevajalci slovenskih ljudskih pesmi so se odločali za različne prevajalske strategije in tako poskušali tujim bralcem predstaviti slovensko izročilo. Na to, da pri prevodu ne gre samo za prenos iz enega jezika v drugega, ampak tudi in predvsem za prenos v drugo kulturo, nas poleg prevodov ljudskih pesmi opozarjajo tudi umetne pesmi, ki se nanje medbesedilno navezujejo in tako nadaljujejo slovensko tradicijo, katere pomeni pa se v prevodih velikokrat izgubljajo.

Maruša Mugerli: Translation of Folk Songs and Literary Poetry with an Intertextual Relation to Folk Heritage. Jezik in slovstvo. 1/2006. 19–31.
Translation of folk songs differs considerably from translation of literary poetry; this is mainly due to the differences between folk songs and literary poetry. Translators of Slovene folk songs have opted for various translation strategies when trying to present Slovene heritage to foreign readers. That translation is not simply a transfer from one language to another, but also, and above all, from one culture to another, is not testified only by the translation of folk songs, but also by literary poetry, which is related intertextually, therefore continuing the Slovene tradition, whose meaning, however, is quite often lost in translation.



Sonja Starc: Besedilna matrica in struktura vzorca besedila problem – rešitev ter možnost njune uporabe pri analizi besedil v šolski praksi. Jezik in slovstvo. 1/2006. 33–52.
Članek prinaša vpogled v strukturo besedila, kot jo teoretično utemeljuje Michael Hoey, in jo aplicira tudi na slovenske zglede. Ob analizi maturitetnih besedil iz slovenščine kot drugega jezika ugotavlja možnost šolske uporabe besedilne matrice in shematičnega prikaza zgradbe besedila tipa problem – rešitev pri preverjanju uravnoteženosti besedila ter dokazuje soodvisnost med besedilom tipa doseganje cilja (navodila) in realizacijo besedila tipa problem – rešitev.

Sonja Starc: A Textual Matrix and the Structure of the Problem-Solution Pattern, and Ways of their Application in Text Analysis in Schools. Jezik in slovstvo. 1/2006. 33–52.
The article gives an insight into the structure of text, as theoretically founded by Michael Hoey, which is also applied to some Slovene examples. Following the analysis of high school final Matura exams in Slovene as a Second Language, the author aims to establish possible ways of using a textual matrix and a schematic illustration of the problem-solution text type in schools when testing textual balance, demonstrating an interdependent relation between the text type intended for achieving a goal, i.e. instructions, and the realisation of the problem-solution text type.



Špela Arhar: Gradnja specializiranega korpusa. Jezik in slovstvo. 1/2006. 53–67.
Za raziskovanje jezika v posebnih funkcijah je referenčni korpus – kot uravnotežen reprezentativni vzorec besedil določenega diskurzivnega prostora – sam po sebi nezadosten, saj ne prinaša dovolj velikega števila besedil s posameznih predmetnih področij. Ena izmed metod, ki jo v takšnih primerih raziskovalec lahko uporabi, je gradnja in analiza lastnega korpusa, ustrezno specializiranega za obravnavo izbranega problema. Članek predstavi karakteristike specializiranega korpusa v primerjavi z referenčnim in na kratko opiše faze predlagane metode. V zvezi z gradnjo korpusa izpostavi nekatere metodološke probleme, na koncu pa še na kratko predstavi empirično študijo obravnavane problematike – gradnjo korpusa, namenjenega raziskovanju pojmovnega koncepta vonja v slovenščini.

Špela Arhar: Building a Specialised Corpus. Jezik in slovstvo. 1/2006. 53–67.
A reference corpus, a balanced representative sample of texts typical of a particular discourse, is by itself inadequate for the research of language in special functions, since it cannot offer a representative sample of texts from specific subject areas. One of the methods available to researchers in such cases is to build and analyse their own corpus, which is properly specialised for the treatment of a chosen problem. The article presents typical features of a specialised corpus compared to a reference corpus, and briefly describes various phases of the proposed method. It also points out some methodological problems concerning the building of a corpus, and in the end offers a brief presentation of an empirical study on the topic, the building of a corpus aimed at researching the concept of smell in Slovene.



Damjan Huber: Percepcija samoglasniških opozicij pri dijakih pomurskih srednjih šol. Jezik in slovstvo. 1/2006. 69–83.
Članek obravnava (slušno) zaznavanje in prepoznavanje samoglasnikov. Med dijaki štirih pomurskih srednjih šol v Murski Soboti, Ljutomeru in Lendavi smo s pomočjo perceptivnega testa izvedli anketo, rezultate pa smo analizirali in primerjali z raziskavo, izvedeno med študenti slavisti in slovenisti (Tivadar 2004a). Ugotovili smo, da dijaki predvsem veliko slabše ločujejo samoglasniško kakovost, medtem ko dolžina (kolikost) posameznih samoglasnikov (skorajda) ne vpliva na pomensko razločevanje besed. Dijaki lendavske gimnazije so med vsemi štirimi šolami imeli še največ težav pri prepoznavanju samoglasnikov, zanimivo pa je tudi, da so samoglasnike veliko bolje (tudi za 17 %) prepoznavale ženske.

Damjan Huber: Perception of Vowels by High-school Pupils in the Pomurje Region. Jezik in slovstvo. 1/2006. 69–83.
The article presents the reception and recognition of vowels. A survey in form of a perception test was conducted among the pupils of four high schools in the Pomurje region, i.e. Murska Sobota, Ljutomer and Lendava. The obtained results were analysed and compared with the research carried out among the students of Slavonic and Slovene studies (Tivadar 2004a). The study shows that pupils are not doing well at distinguishing vowel quality, while the length of individual vowels hardly ever influences the distinction between the semantic properties of words. Of all subjects involved in the study, the pupils from the Lendava grammar school had most difficulties with vowel recognition, while it is also interesting to note that vowels were better recognised by female pupils (by as much as 17 %).
